- 2004.08.011. As you already might know, Regatta of Curonian Lagoon has been held in Nida during 1-7 of August 2004. It was Regatta number XXXVII - the most attractive and traditional yearly sailing event in Lithuania. The history of such a Regattas' has been started almost 50 years ago, in 1954. That was the greatest fiesta I have ever seen. The results you can find in "Results". Few pictures you can find "37th Regatta Photo". Some time later special homepage will be organized, where citizens of Lithuania will have an opportunity to order high quality digital pictures with delivery to the nearest photo laboratory of Fujifilm. Next year all yachts from Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia and all Baltic counties will be invated to take part in this competition (first week of August 2005). During this winter all information regarding Danish Handicap and participant's fees will be translated in to English.

- 2004.08.25. Each year, during first week of August, Curonian Lagoon Regatta take place in internal waters of Curonian Lagoon. This year Regatta No.37 has been held. 50 years have passed from Regatta No.1. Not each year sailors have had an opportunity to compete. We all remember Russian economical blockade in 1990, when we do not have hot water all the winter time, and our homes was heated at the maximum plus 14 degrees of Celsius. But life is like piano ivory: there are one or two white keys between the black ones.

This year Regatta confirms our "white" period of life. Pictures - it's a memories. Nice pictures - nice memories. Linas Chekaitis, employee of UAB "FUJIFILM Lietuva" (sponsor of Regatta), not only glanced the moments, but even make an art of views.

This event was organized by 37 people, if we do not count orchestra players, dancers, drivers, acustic engineers, two professional camera mans and others, who made a support of this event by theirs' odd tasks.

- 2005.06.08. On 4th of July 2005 Yachting Union of Lithuania have had a celebration of 70th years anniversary. AB Hansabankas and Yachting Union signed longtime sponsorship agreement. First time 4 people have been awarded by Honorary Members Name. Celebration took place in Kaunas Yachtclub. Schedule was filled by sailing competition, grass party, press-conference, meeting, many awards and concert.

- 2005.07.22. During the period between 30 of July and 6th of August XXXVIII Curonian Lagoon Regatta will take place in Nida. Organizational Committee of Regatta has already prepared Racing Rules of XXXVIII Curonian Lagoon Regatta and the Program. As it was announced before, everybody from Baltic Sea Countries are welcome to Regatta. Year by year event is going to be better and better. This year as well. Regatta's Committee is welcome youth within the crew. It's an old tradition of Regatta we unfortunately forgot for couple of years. Races, Concerts, Regatta's Diary at the Evening Round Table will attract a lot of people and will make this greatest sailing event in Lithuania more spectacular.

- 2005.08.26. On 25th of August 9:15 in the morning Arunas Rinkevicius have started from Sventoji (Lithuanian Coast of Baltic Sea) with ambitious aim - to cross Baltic Sea with windsurfing. Sea crossing have been made within 10 hours and 25 minutes. Speedboat has convoy Arunas during this venture. In Sweden sailing yacht "Lietuva" has accommodated tired sailor. Greetings for the winner!

- 2006.05.20. The Yachting Union of Lithuania in co-operation with Air Force of Lithuania has made a practical SAR exercise for the members of Yachting Union. Training involved activities listed below: Yacht search according to the May-Day signal, injured crew member lifting, life-raft launching, SAR helicopter search of life-raft in the sea.

- 2004.09.16 - The results of Lithuanian "Speed sailing" champ:
      1st place - Arunas Rinkevichius, LTU109, sails "Neilpryde", board "Fanatic" - 58.1 km/h.
      2nd place - Jonas Krishchiunas, LTU108, sails "Neilpryde", board "Fanatic" - 46.1 km/h.
      3rd place - Audrius Menkevichius, LTU51, sails "Neilpryde", board "Exocet" - 46.0 km/h.

- 2004.07.13. The weather of the 67th Warnemuende week was dominated by a storm system and some rain showers. 2500 sailors in 24 classes, plus the keelboats have been on the waters of Warnemuende for nine days. It's a Europa Cup championship held during July 3-11 2004:
       Europe class: Gintare Volungeviciute 1st place. The 21 year old girl from Lithuania clearly dominated the fleet. She is hopeful to sail in Athens. In total 46 participants.
       Laser Standard class: Giedrius Guzys - 13th place, Laurynas Rimsas 35th place. In total 110 participants.
       Laser Radial class: Vaidas Balciunas 26th place, Rokas Milevicius 28th place, Linas Scepinas 31th place, Ausra Mileviciute 102nd place. In total 113 participants.

- 2004.06.18. New Danish Handicap 2004 rules are approved for year 2004. You can find it in "Documents" (Lithuanian language).

- 2004.06.17. Sailing yacht "Reja" has reached Island (2004.07.12). As it was informed - the yacht will be drived by shifted crews from 200.06.12 till mid August 2004. It's a merit of the Captain Valdemaras Vizbaras, who got along his boat small "Yacht Club". Organisators: Yachting Union of Lithuania and Yacht Club of Panevezis. - 2004.06.02. The Yachting Union of Lithuania (LBS) has accepted proposal from Cruising Association UK (CA) to enter into loose affiliation with the purpose to expand cruising activities between the members of CA. Mr. Kastytis Bartusevicius is appointed as Honorary Local Representative (HLR) from LBS side (Mob.tel.: +370 650 20450, e-mail: kastytis@portsl.lt).

- 2008.08.19. Armand's Plate greetings: "The sailors in Latvia are very appreciated for your brilliant success in Beijing Olimpic Games in sailing ("LASER" class). We conglaturate Ms. Gintare Volungeviciute with olimpic silver in Beijing. It is very great success of Lithuanian sailors as well as Lithuanian Yachting Union. As a president of Latvian Yachting Union I consider, that Gintare is not only briliant sailor for Lithuania, but also for Baltic Countries. I am very, very appreciated for your success in Beijing. - 2008.10.02. There are two new links in page "Useful links", routing to the great Round the World trips, handing by Lithuanian sailors this winter. One of them - private trip of sailor from Minge village on 30 feet s/y "Ragaine II", and second - "Millenary Odyssey" Round the World trip, sacred to the 1000 years anniversary of Lithuania state, that will take place on 5th October 2008 at 1800 UTC from Klaipeda. 11 crews are going to participate in 11 legs, 10-12 crew members each. 37 thousand nautical miles will be covered till 6th of July 2009. The race is going to be made on famous Volvo Ocean Race 60 feet sister boat "Assa Abloy" that was acquired for that purpose and renamed into s/y "Ambersail". It is mutual project of Yachting Union of Lithuania and Yachting Club Ambersail. The race will link Lithuanian Communities all around the world and will be fulfilled round the corners from West to East (Cape of Good Hope and Cape Horn).
